I’m still learning from this song. The spark came from having a dream about a high school flame whom I hadn’t thought much about for years and then suddenly feeling like we were together again. The feeling stuck with me into the day and the song wasn’t far behind. I feel like the lyrics have a dream-like quality. I didn’t do much editing to them and they retain a sort of mystery which I love. I also think the message is a good one. Acceptance of being both deeply flawed and being made of the divine light of the universe, and of having the power to do good or evil. It was written entirely in my head without a guitar while on a small tour with my former band J Minus. You could say it was heard more than written. I just happened to be there to write it down.
